Winter Break Fun

This year with the move being to close to Christmas we didn't do gingerbread houses.  The kids were a little bummed about it.  When we moved into the bishop's beach house Sister Farrer, our bishop's wife, gave some kits that her family didn't get to.  I put them on the shelf and kind of forgot about them until it came time to entertain the kids over February Break.  It was an easy fun way to spend the morning and all the kids loved it.

Each of the kids decorated one side of the house.
Guss had the front.
I helped Lucas on the side.
Owen really decorated the back.
Chloe with her side.

The finished product.

Valentine's Day

Every year we always go to Olive Garden on February 13 to celebrate the anniversary of Ben and I's first date.  It is usually not busy because most everyone is waiting for the next night to go out.  To celebrate Valentine's Day we have a candlelight dinner at home.  I like to decorate the table and leave little boxes of chocolate on everybody's plate and make it a special dinner.

I decided to get really festive and make heart shaped meatloaf for dinner.

We finished it off with individual chocolate cakes with raspberry sauce.
They were my favorite part of the meal and I may have had one or two for breakfast the next day.

Basketball Season

Owen really wanted to play basketball this year.  The season started while we still lived in Sanford and was still going when we moved.  Luckily, we lived close enough to let him finish out the season.  Owen really enjoyed playing and the rest of us had a good time cheering him and his team on.
