Girls Gala

Chloe and Dad went to their first Daddy Daughter Dance.  It was called the Girls Gala, it was 70's themed and it was sponsored by the PTO at the elementary school.  Chloe was so excited for it.  She talked about it for weeks in advance.  The night before she told me that she hoped that Dad would hold out his arms and she would run and jump into them and then he would hold up straight in the air and spin her around.  But she was also nervous that when this happened that he would spin her so much that she would get sick and throw up.  I told her that maybe Dad would only spin her once an she wouldn't get sick.  After they got home from the dance I asked her how it was.  She replied, "It was awesome!"  I asked if Dad had spun her in the air and she said, "No, but I got two bags of Cheetos and one bag of Pirates Booty."  (In Dad's defense, he did flip her a few times but there was no dramatic spinning in the air.)

Back to School

It is back to school time for the big boys and this year Chloe got to join them.

Guss - 5th grade
Guss started at Wells Junior High this year.

Owen - 2nd Grade
Lucas was really excited until he found out he had to stay home with only Mom to keep him company.

Chloe - Kindergarten
She was super excited and couldn't wait and then we found out she didn't start until four days after the boys and so we had to add a few days to the count down.

Chloe Turns 5

With Chloe turning the big 5 this year we had a big friend party.  We called it Pink and Purple Princess Pool Party.  We invited her primary class and their siblings to come and swim and make princess crafts and eat, you guess it, pink and purple cupcakes.  Everyone had a good time and Chloe loved having everyone come and celebrate with her.  We had to do it a week early because of the big trip we had planned for July and August.

She loved everything she got.

Chloe turned 5 on July 1, while we were driving across the country as fast as we could.  Dad even got pulled over that morning and Chloe gave us and the officer a little start by rolling down her window, just as the officer was getting ready to walk away, and announcing that today was her birthday.  You could tell he was pretty startled at first because it is not usually a good thing for the back window to come down when an officer stops someone, but after Chloe made her announcement he wished her a happy birthday and sent us on our way with just a warning to slow down.
Chloe was very excited to get to celebrate part of her birthday in a hotel.

She got Barbies,

mermaids,

and a unicorn!!!  Just like she always wanted.
We love our Little Sis.  She always sees the wonder and beauty in everything.  She goes into every situation believing that everyone is her friend and that usually turns out to be true because she is so friendly and loving.  We are so happy to have Chloe in our family.
We LOVE you CHLOE!!!

Ninja Princess

You may not recognize this ninja princess but it is actually Chloe in disguise.

She used the Barbie makeup kit she got for Christmas to go undercover.

Lookin' Good

She loved her new look.

Beach House Buddies

Chloe and Lucas had a lot of fun together in the beach house.  The boys were off at school all day but the two little ones had no problem keeping themselves entertained.

They devised this system to put their laundry away.

Lucas would load and Chloe would pull it up.

Sometimes all the playing wore these buddies out.

Hide and Go Seek

It took Lucas a long time to find Chloe in the shoe cubby.

Lucas had a great hiding spot but he had a hard time staying quiet while Chloe looked for him.

Happy Birthday Chloe

Chloe was very lucky to be able to celebrate her birthday with a lot of her cousins this year.  We had a doughnut breakfast in the morning and a pizza party in the evening.  Grandma and Grandpa Madsen even came up from Ephraim to be with us.
I was going to make Chloe a cake but there was a cake-tastrophy and so I got one from the bakery.  The girl at the bakery had a hard time writing on the cake because her icing was so hard and so we had a laugh over the way it turned out.

Chloe loved it.

One happy four year old.

She was very excited for all of her presents.

Lucas was really excited too.

Dora!!!

Hooray for detangler spray.

We are so glad to have Chloe in our family.  She is very musical, very curious and very loving.  She has a talent for making friends, no matter where she is.  Chloe loves pink and purple and rainbows, cooking, movies, riding her bike, princess's and giving hugs.  We think she is a great girl.  WE LOVE YOU, CHLOE!!!

Off to the Races

Guss and Owen decided to take Chloe and Lucas on a piggy back race around the loop.  I think Guss and Chloe officially won but they all had a great time.
